fair & reasoned as always, bowlhead. the only point i would make is that "heavily biased" opinions can be picked apart by those with the clear skills to do so.
multiparty discussion between Providers, Customers & Potential Customers is an interesting, and potentially very useful, concept imo. i contribute to some other forums, but MSE is the one that has the scale for it to make sense for providers to get involved. let's see:)0 -
It would be chaos if MSE would allow firms to justify / explain / advertise / etc their products on here.0

I think Bowlhead has highlighted a few areas where the Scottish Friendly product offering has already been comprehensively picked apart.
How can any product not show clear charges and not show any past performance. I know it's no guarantee for the future but most investments tend to want to show how well they have done.
Those that don't makes me think they are trying to hide something. Is the performance over 5 or 10 years so bad that they can't tell us?
In terms of providers coming back with info I think it can be helpful if they are officially sanctioned. Anyone posting in a personal capacity may not be doing so with the authority of the company so could be the teaboy or MD and their information may not be valid.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
