My complaint against Scottish Power was upheld and The Ombudsman gave them 28 days to comply.

It appears The Ombudsman have an Investigation Department who look into cases like mine once they have been informed of the non compliance.

I am still waiting to hear the outcome!

Reading the number of cases where this happens it appears the Energy Companies are sticking two figures up to the Ombudsman because they know nothing will be done.

Anyway don't the Energy Companies pay for the Ombudsman? It could only happen in the UK!

In my case the department that looks into the non compliance cases has done nothing other than ask the supplier for updates every 28 days. The update from the supplier can be basically "we have done nothing, and are now counting your case as resolved in our official complaint statistics but be assured we are still working on it" and that satisfies the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman applies no pressure on the supplier. They also will not allow customers to speak to this department.
