Plug incompatability

I am having a problem with some electrical appliances recently bought and the fit of the standard 3 pin plug into the switched wall sockets .
Previously no problem but recently purchased replacement Bosch steam iron and De'Longhi coffee grinder with moulded on 3 pin UK plugs, do not fit well into the sockets. The plugs seem to bind and not push fully home and on letting go try and push back out of the socket. In fact the grinder I used and left plugged in , coming back 40 min later it would not work. Found it had fully pushed the plug back out and it was laying on the worktop. Push an older kettle plug in - no problem .
Is this a "Made In China Syndrome"

If your sockets are pushing out plugs, I would have thought that they were the problem, not the plug.

But appliances with older plugs do not have this problem , they fit just fine into same sockets.

There are a number of products that have been imported over the years with fake BS1363 plugs. They shouldn't be sold in this country.

There are some examples on http://www.bs1363.org.uk/
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    Very helpful link Ectophile

OP should check to see if the earth pin has plastic sleeving like the ones shown in the link - it should not and could be a reason why the plug pushes out?

Is the plug literally being pushed completely out of the socket?. Visual and physical check of the plug is easy. I would check the socket.
