Before I answer, did you ever think about copyright? Because it's on the web doesn't mean you can use it on your website without the permission of the copyright holder.
If you tap the picture and keep your finger on it, there are plenty of options like "copy picture, copy URL, ... There's no need for an app.0 -

I've tried long press and save and it doesn't work, not in android, on a tablet, so far as I can tell. maybe it is different on an iPad? or in other os. i am specifically referring to photos viewed on the web on my android tablet. ( and yes I am aware of copyright. I am not trying to promote them as mine, just to illustrate a point and am careful to attribute.)0

I have a Nexus 4 (running Android Kitkat 4.4.4). I visited my local golf club's website (http://www.strathavengc.com/) using the Chrome browser. I long-pressed the club logo and up popped a long list of options, including Save Image.
Can you do the above on your device?0 -
Wow, yes I can - there isn't a save as, so where does it save it to?0

It saves them to the Downloads folder on my Nexus 4. Open the Gallery app and you should be able to see them and which folder they are in.
Getting them off the device should be a simple matter of connecting your device to your computer, finding the relevant folder via Windows Explorer (I'm assuming a Windows PC here) and then dragging-dropping them to wherever you want to put them.
Putting them on to Facebook should be a simple matter of opening the Gallery app, selecting the image and then choosing the Facebook option from the linked-dots menu.0 -

Android is an OS with a number of variations .
Usual is that it saves to Download folder if its from the web .
Or it may save to the Gallery that shows all pictures .0 -

I was not intending to use my pc at this stage. I wanted to do the whole copy and paste operation on my tablet.0
