They were only bettered by Georgian properties in my opinion, they really knew how to build places back then, not the ticky tacky rubbish we have now.
Surveyors are baffled as to how many Georgian buildings are still standing!
Looking behind the plaster of the Georgian house that we have remodelled, I am entirely in agreement. It was a miracle it hadn't collaped
Really beatiful though. Still, by far my favourite type of houseEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

At the risk of sounding pretentious....
the area just south of westminster abbey and HoParliament (around Smith Square) is so overlooked. It's as old, ornate and beautiful as other part of London, convenient for everything but sooo quiet and peaceful. A perfectly preserved peice of victorian london - gaslights and all.
Prices go up and down like a yo-yo in westminster i suspect the russians can't decide if it's cool enough for them.
3 years ago 1 bed flats were going for £200k. it if went back to that price i'd be tempted.
and for a free medieval london experience - get free tickets for the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London, esp winter eves. Think it's every thursday. theres a whole village in there0 -
You can still get a studio in Westminster for around 200K, which I thought was superb value.
It's very quiet in Westminster, it being dominated by the Parliament and all the think tanks around there. It's not a very fashionable area - the ruskies would rather be in Belgravia.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
Wow .... i'm so tempted!
But have no need for a pied-de-terre 5 miles from where i currently live. Esp when the bike ride through chelsea to westminster is such a nice commute.0 -
You could always use it as somewhere to stay when the District Line goes t*ts up!
And there isn't much room to swing a cat either in this one:
