New water supply, please help.

Hello,

I would like to run a new water supply from the rear of my property. I need some advise such as:-

1.) Best way to cut and break through the concrete floor in my yard.

2.) Specification and size of the trench.

3.) Ducting the trench in the house.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gareth.

Sthil saw to cut the concrete. Get a matock and trenching shovel the trench can be a narrow as you like but 500mm to 750mm deep so will be 300mm wide to manage this depth. Line the trench with sand and cover pipe with sand if you have any stones in the trench back fill. I used drainage pipe for duct but guttering is probably cheaper.

As above, but if you are doing it to the rules, there should be a minimum cover of 750mm to the pipe, (this is for frost protection and protection from future damage) and there ought to be warning tape set above (so nobody digs through it in future, hopefully!). This tape can be combined with a trace wire for future detection of the route.
