Window problem

We had double glazing installed in November 2008 using a FENSA registered installer and received a 10-year guarantee.
We have had recurring problems with the handle on one of the windows and the company has come out to repair it several times. The problem has just recurred and the company is now claiming that they are no longer under the same ownership and will not honour our guarantee (they are using the same company name, phone number and logo but say that they registered as a new company earlier this year).
Unfortunately no other companies seem able to repair this window handle as they cannot get the parts unless they installed it.
Is our only option to replace the entire window or is there some other way to repair or replace the handle? It's a large window with two panels which open so I would prefer not to replace the whole thing if we can.

What's so special about the handle?
Is it a wooden frame, uPVC, other . . .?0 -
There are loads of websites selling various handles for DG windows. Yiu need to work out which one it is and order one.
Worst case, look on line for 'double glazing repairs' or similar. There are plenty of companies that specialise in repairs and maintenance. Should be less than £40 to sort.
In terms of your installers, that behaviour is very common within the industry. They shut down one company as a legal entity and open another one with the same address, logo, staff etc but its a completely different legal entity. So your original guarantee is worthless.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

Thanks, I emailed FENSA and they gave me similar advice. In terms of your installers, that behaviour is very common within the industry. Too bad the guarantee isn't backed up by an industry regulator!0
