Faulty Tablet

I purchased a tablet from Carphone Warehouse last August, it is now broken (out of it's warantee) I took it back today and they told me I wasn't entitled to a refund or exchange or repair because it is out of it's warantee.
Would it be possible I am entitled to at least an exchange or repair under the Sale Of Good Act? And if so please would someone help compose and email or letter to sent to Carphone Warehouse as I'm not very good at that sort of thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good luck! I recently had the same issue but with Argos. My tablet broke at 13 months old - a month out of warrenty. However, Argos was incredibly nice about it and gave me a voucher for the full amount of what I initially paid. If Argos can manage it, I'm sure Carphone Warehouse can!
In another story - Mum's friend's TV broke a couple of months out of warrenty but they had paid a lot for it so naturally wanted compensation, and they ended up taking it up with Trading Standards, and TS forced Comet to replace the TV.0 -
Broken as in what .
Depending upon make it may still have manufactures extra warranty valid .
As its twelve months plus then you require an independent engineers report to state the problem is due to a manufacturing defect .0 -
The problem is it won't switch on or charge. I will write an email to Carphone Warehouse and see if I have any luck that way.
I spoke to the manufacturer, but they are in Canada and told me $45 to repair it. And then I'd have to wait for it to get to Canada and then come back, so I told them to forget it.Been married since 14th September 2013
