Parcels Gone Missing

I hope this is in the right place, basically we went away for a few days and came back late last night.A card was through the letterbox saying that 3 parcels had been left in my garden, didnt state when just under the bush.Needless to say no parcels were there,I live on a busy road by a bus stop and a corner shop on an end terrace and my garden is about 4ft by 8,so hiding anything is virtually impossible.I have rang parcelnet and they told me who they were from and to contact the firms direct. My worry is will they try to make me pay for the goods, and if they try, what can I do about it.Any advice would be appreciated.Thanks.

The parcel company shouldn't really have left the parcels somewhere unsecure unless you specifically asked them to!
Have you checked with your neighbours, one of them might have taken them in for safety0 -
Hi, this has happened to me before-parcels used to get chucked over our fence and a lot of the time i didn't even get a note telling me! About a month passed before i realised there was a parcel in my back garden once, the weather had been terrible so i hadn't been out there.
I would seriously complain to the parcel/delivery company and then ring up the company who you ordered the items from and tell them what has happened. You didn't sign for anything-so there is no proof of it even being delivered really. I would not pay for any goods that have gone missing because of someone elses fault.

Parcelnet are terrible. They left a parcel right on my mum's doorstep once, in full view of everyone passing. There are plenty of neighbours around that could have looked after it, and many of them are in during the day. (in the end one of them noticed it and brought it in). There was about £100 worth of goods in there, we were so unimpressed. Mum did complain to the company she bought it from , they sent her a low value gift voucher and said they would investigate but never heard anything again.
It was especially irritating as when she bought the goods, there was a section for "instructions to courier" and it said "Any instructions that will compromise the security of your package will be ignored".0 -
I ordered a rug a couple of years ago which didn't arrive, and got into a big debate with the delivery company who swore they had delivered it but I had no card and the neighbours knew nothing- it turned out an enterprising delivery person had gone round the back of the house, climbed a (fairly low) ladder and tucked it on top of scaffolding under the single storey eaves of my extension! Why? What was wrong with the porch? Yes it was dry, but chances were I wouldn't have spotted it until the work was finished and the scaffold came down, if at all...0

If you didn't sign and accept receipt of the goods then how can they prove they actually delivered the parcels? My understanding of the law is that until the items have been signed for either by yourself or a neighbour for safe keeping you have no reason to worry as there's no proof the goods were even left.0

Keep hold of the card with the left in garden message, get onto the companies who sent the parcels and explain that they were left in the garden by the delivery co and have gone missing. It's upto them to recover the money from the delivery co, they will either have to resend your goods or refund your money. Shouldn't be necessary, but if you paid by credit card they may be able to help if the company is silly with you.0

i ordered some school uniform from m&s a few weeks ago went to check today and it was delivered apparently on th 17th!!! Spoke to m&s who where very helpful apparently the delivery company had put it in a safe place (i live in a block of flats), so they could either re-deliver or refund and i asked for the refund, i'd rather go in store than wait for it to be delivered againOther women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts
