I just followed the advice about claiming back owed credit following a switch last year and have successfully managed to claim back a significant figure.
I have another company that I want to contact as I think I may be owed credit back from them, but If I find out that I actually owe them money, would they be able make me pay this back?

Probably - owing money is a two way thing. If they owe you money then they should pay it back likewise if you owe then you should pay.
Why should you think it's different if you owe?Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
