Hello Members
My Aunt is coming to visit me in UK. I do not really want to ask her to buy the travel insurrance. Can I buy on her behalf from a company in UK?
I will be really grateful for any advice
Many thanks

No, you'll have to buy it from her originating country, insurance here will only cover for trips leaving the UK.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Thank you for your post.
Do you think I can buy on her behalf from axa-gulf.com. I was able to obtain a quote.0 -

Yes, as long as you use all her details and just use your credit card to pay.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Thanks again for your help.
God forbade if she has to go to a hospital. Do we need to pay the bill initially and then claim from the insurance OR do you think hospital should be able to contact the insurance directly. My aunt is not young and I just want to know the ins and outs.0 -
It depends on the insurer. If you go with a large international company they usually have agreements with hospitals for them to send the bills direct.
One thing, you must make sure you put all her medical history on the application, if you don't and she is taken ill they won't pay out.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I followed the quote and It never asks for any existing medical conditions. It just asks for name, date of birth, address, phone numbers etc.0

Make sure you read the T&C's though, it's there that it usually says you have to tell them about pre-existing medical conditions. Kind of , we're not going to ask you but you have to tell us!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

As they said, it will depend on the insurer, but if you're worrying about the affordability of paying upfront then being reimbursed, don't. No NHS hospital would refuse emergency care, and I doubt any would want money immediately for necessary non-urgent care when you show proof of insurance.0
