disabled facilities grant

My wife and I are both disabled and pensioners we have started the process of applying for a disabled facilities grant through anoccupational therapy advisor we have been told that this is a means tested grant and any savings may be taken into account. I
have been looking around on the internet and I have downloaded the grants ready reckoner. I did see something briefly about savings saying savings over £6000 are taken into account, but I was looking for something else at the time and I have been unable to find the page again. We have a small amount saved nowhere near £6000 which we are saving to pay for a shortfall on our endowment mortgage. Could someone tell me if £6000 is the amount which if over, savings are taken into account for the above grant. :D
