Some sellers....
So I ordered 2 items from a seller. been working long hours and only recently caught up with opening/checking what I ordered/got.
Saw I didnt have 2 items ordered from one seller (about a month ago). value is about £11 all in. So not the end of the world.
Emailed them. prompt response. so all good.
However
Would Joe average believe this response?

Hello Thank you for confirming the details with me, I would like to personally apologise for your item not being received and the time frame involved. We will contact our Royal Mail Business Customer Manager at the Mail Centre and they will arrange for your local postman concerned to be pulled in for an interview and establish where your item was delivered to. We can either have a replacement item arranged for you or a refund issued if you prefer? We appreciate you working with us and we will get this issue resolved for you. I look forward to hearing from you. Many Thanks ***

Speaking as almost one, I wouldn't. If postmen could remember what happened to every letter and parcel they handle there'd be more of them on Mastermind.
See this is my thinking. It reads as a template message that's pointless.
Admittedly I know the back end,so wondered if I was being extra cynical.
The seller has been fine and asked me to confirm address etc.
Even if the postie can remember delivering packets to our house(likely as they know my work background etc) they wont know this specific packet(s)0 -

Well I don't know if I am Joe Public but I wouldn't believe it. In fact as a member of the public I would have real concerns that there was a system where a post person (am I allowed to say postman anymore?) is called in for interview everytime a letter or parcel went missing. I bet the unions would love that as a policy.

There are endless posts on the powerseller forum crafting these ridiculous replies to INR. Apparently they work.... But I would never send something so ridiculous.0

Interview the postman in the presence of a union rep about a package he may not have handled or issue a book of stamps.
I know where my money is.0 -
'Pulled in for an interview' sounds quite threatening, all for part of an £11 order? I don't think so!0
-
Reply saying that's not good enough, you want everybody who may have handled your parcel from post office to your postie suspended immediately until the parcel turns up.0
-
Reply showing your shock that a person would be 'pulled in' anywhere and offer to help report abuse.
Shocking reply, a template aimed at Joe Scammer from John Cynical.0 -
Repsonse from sellers such as the above are perfectly transparent to all apart from the terminally thick.
I do ask all people who claim INR from me to check with neighbours and inform I report all losses to Royal mail and ask them to co-operate if Royal mail contact them.
I don't get COP of most items, so can't make a claim, but do report all buyers who insist on a refund, as to my mind anyway, if they are happy with a replacement it probably has gone astray.
Several people have found their items in drawers, and in one case "under a flowerpot" - which would be a strange place for a postman to leave a 15 x 10 cm bubble envelope.0 -

In my case the item was needed, but isnt now (as its been over a month)
It wasn't urgent and I did offer to pay additional for a faster postage service. however to no reply. yet a very prompt answer to an INR message?
So I'm down as a scammer?0
