I'm in credit with a store account, but ...

they wont pay me the amount that I am in credit with. Can somebody please offer me some advise?

I have ignored statements the last couple of years. I don't know why, I knew that I didn't owe them any money as we paid up all credit and store cards a few years ago.

I actually contacted them via telephone (February this year) to find out why I was still receiving statements from them as I haven't used the card for a number of years; turns out the last time I used the in 2006 - that was when I paid up the account. The account is four digits in credit  !

Upon asking for them to send me a cheque to the value of I was advised that it would be passed onto the management team; that contact was never made despite my handing over my new contact telephone number and confirming my address.

I wrote to them soon afterwards but haven't heard from them since. I'm now getting a bit annoyed each time I think about it but I'm not sure what my next move is.

I would really appreciate it if somebody on here could advise my next move.

Many thanks in advance

    I'd phone them up again.

Though after 8 years of letting them sit on your money, I can appreciate that another few months may be neither here nor there...

Close the account and they'll have no choice but to send you a cheque.

yes, good advice grumbler. if it is hard currency on a store card, rather than points of any kind, then they have to refund you.

Have you moved? If so it may be security worries that are holding things up.
