Why, when setting-up a sub-board, isn't a spam button automatically (as in 'standard practice' ) added by the person(s) involved in doing the creating.

Surely any board can be subject to SPAM, even those hidden ones like House Prices etc and DT, when a spammer is sufficiently motivated to get the required time/posts in.

When the 'Great Spambot Attack of October 2014' occurred, various people mentioned that they were unable to click the SPAM button on various sub-boards - because there wasn't one.

These comments were scattered around in various places, but they did seem to indicate a somewhat puzzling inconsistency of approach by MSE.
That is what my question was essentially about.

Is it simply that you don't have a record of which boards have the SPAM button and which don't?
So that if we advise you of the areas they are missing from you will put them in?
That would of course be beneficial, in the event of another large-scale attack, so that those wanting to do quick SPAM clicks (rather than the more long-winded REPORT facility - which ain't much good if there are no staff around at the time ) would be able to do so.
