Kitchen & Bathroom Paint

Hi all

Just after opinions of Kitchen and Bathroom paint. Never used before - I have the same shade running through the house - Dulux Calico

Would like it in Kitchen - Only sold in Matt

Bathroom - Sold in Soft Sheen only

If you have painted kitchens do you have matt or sheen?

There is no such thing as kitchen and bathroom paint. It is a marketing ploy to make you buy silk paint at inflated prices. Remember professional decorators don't use it and architects etc don't specify it.

Have what ever colour you want in whatever finish you want. But there is no need for it to be kitchen/bathroom paint.

Agree with phill99, never bought special kitchen or bathroom paint, never had a problem with 'normal' paint in either of those rooms.

Mind you, I have also used cheap gloss over blown vinyl wallpaper in a bathroom when I couldn't afford tiles, that worked for a few years:)

I've painted my kitchen using dulux trade diamond Matt because I wanted it dead matt but wipable because we have no tiling just a splashback at the hob and 10cm upstands. So far so good. Previously when it was tiled I just used regular paint, same for the bathroom.
