Gas central heating issue!!

  • Normally each radiator has a flow and return, some older systems were piped so that the flow pipe went through one radiator to the next, to the next etc eventually connecting to the return. Is this how yours is piped?

However it is not the boiler installers fault, unless you asked them and offered to pay for any other work that needed doing at the time.

If you require the system updating, get it done, I can't see how it can be blamed on the boiler installer.

The boiler installed does not warm up all radiators in the house, should they not provide a service that will warm up all the radiators in my house?

Also if there boiler has an out and return which I believe it does and the system of existing pipes does not have a return what have they connected there return too?

Should this not be something I should question with them?

Also I have told their customer service team all the same what I informed you above, they have agreed to send someone out and said the system should work correctly. Albeit its taken 6 months they are sending someone to have a look.
  • Called the emergency call out number last night for electrical fault and when pressing the "new call out" option 1 button the line went dead! Called them today to be told that no other complaints had been received and that I should have pressed option 2. Automated system says option 1 for new call outs. They insisted it should have been option2. Auto system says otherwise. Total waste of space. Would not recommend them. Remember you get what you pay for. Go to British gas much more professional and efficient.

It was a while back, I believe it was a british gas engineer who told us about the boiler as it broke and they came out to look at it. I cannot remember much, it was not a combi and heated a water tank as well. It had a yellow sign hung on it when the inspector looked at it.

When the sales rep came he did tests on the water pressure and counted the number of radiators around the property etc.

Unfortunately there is a culture within BG to try and flog new boilers to people.
I'll just repeat that it could well be a one pipe system and if so,it will have to go and be re-piped.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
