Capital One Application

My boyfriend applied for a capital one card online and it said they will review his application and contact him within 7 days.

Is this good or bad? Are they likely to decline him? He has never had a credit card before.

Also would it be a good idea to email capital one saying even though he has never had credit card before he has direct debit payments from his bank account and could show them bank statements if required?

Many people get that and get a credit card from them. Happened to me and I still got one. It depends on things like how long he's been living at his current address, what his credit history is like etc. As it's his first credit card they are probably doing a further check, so I wouldn't worry.

I applied for a capital one card on the 3rd july. Had the same as your boyfriend that they would contact me.

Received a letter after about 7 days saying "Good news you have been approved" I had to sign the application and sent it back which I did on the same day.

Received my pin on 20th july and have been told my card will be with me by 26th july.

They dont appear to be the quickest company to complete the the process.

If he has no joy with capital one he could always try Vanquis
