Joint bank account but not at same address

My girlfriend and I want to open a joint bank account but we currently do not reside at the same address.
Is anyone aware if it's possible to have a joint bank account even if the account holders do not live together?
I'm aware we have other options....such as one us to open a normal bank account to use as a "joint" account, or even use either of our existing accounts, but I'm interested to know if above is possible.
Thanks in advance.

It is certainly possible - someone I know had a joint account with a parent when they lived at different addresses.0

Search the forum for joint accounts before you commit. There are many easier options than joint accounts.0

Yes it is possible H-reg, provided you have the correct ID and address confirmation. Some banks will even send seperate statements to each address.
There are many scenarios where this would be common, yours is one of them, you may have two family members operating an estate and need a joint account or you may have elderly parent (in care home) and daughter/son who operates the joint account for them.
If you have a joint bank account it does link you with the other party and will show on your credit file and can affect your credit rating should the other person run up debt or have debt issues currently.0
