Break in

Not sure if this is the right thread but can't see a better one?
DD's flat was broken into.
Police called, culprit found who admitted what he'd done.
Police recommended a company to make the window secure (merely boarded it up).
What I want to know is does my DD have to pay for this or should the landlord hold some responsibility for an extremely insecure set up?
Thanks.

The LL should pay, and should he able to claim on his buildings insurance.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Thats what I hoped for! Thanks.

No, LL is responsible for any break ins or vandalism.

Exceptions being if the culprit is know to the tenant and would be seen as a personal attack that the tenant would be liable for.
