How did we end up with opposing names for two different things across the borders? It has even caused problems for us, a Scots friend of mine asked me to get her a swede so I came back with what I thought was a swede, she had wanted a turnip so I had to go back out and get her that! Not a problem, I always have swede in the freezer to go in stews or soups anyway!
Gawd, I started this debate last night:rotfl:. Just wondering how it works on the s/s tills - what if you select the turnip picture as this is what you think they are and you've bought swedes. A lot of difference in price

Morning witchy paw sniffers:)
Snap I had a sneaky suspicion it would have something to Laura Ashley am so envious
I wish I could be enthusiastic about Halloween TM but it is the one night of the year I dread:eek:as I do not like opening my door after dark since losing my DH irrespective off the occasion Fortunately for me most of the children around here have grown so not too many knocks on the door but I do admit to sitting in the dark as do a lot of the older generation0 -

I have got most of my pressies, all the stocking presents and several of the larger onesFeels good to know what is sitting upstairs, I really must have a wrapping session when I get chance so I know how many I have for everyone, the only one I am likely to be lacking for is DDs boyfriend, only because I simply to not know him well enough to know what I can get away with
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Morning, can anyone tell me the cheapest travel insurance please? We never have it but I think this time we will, sooner or later something has to go wrong. Going to Eygpt for 3 weeks in December. Tia0

I don't think I count as "older generation" as I'm in my 30s (although maybe youngers MSEers would disagree!) but I don't like answering my door on Halloween either.
We have the occasional little scamp around here who will throw fireworks in the garden and whatnot, so I just ignore it!0
