  • Good morning:wave:

Half term here:) so we are busy chilling today:)

Interesting how we have different cos/ quidco offers. I've got £6 off 20/24 pk carling on mine so good to help me reach my £40 in t to use the hh.

Found the mag in @ yesterday with the pasta moc now that the price has increased... Im destined not to try the pasta as I missed it last time too .

Had some good news this morning mr monkeys best friend became a "Daddy" Over the weekend. Exceptionally good news as they had been trying for a while with no luck. After a few hospital visits a little miracle was born.
It's amazing how we take things like this for granted and what modern medicine and science can achieve for the better.
The gift of life really is amazing and something we should treasure even on the difficult days.

    Hugs to all:)
    Have a lovely day.

Just found this link as well, which details a lot of the articles written about Operation Christmas Child:

    http://www.inminds.co.uk/occ-articles.html

I have no problem with religious material per se, although I am not religious myself. However, this goes well beyond simply enclosing religious material with the box, as can be found if you just do a little bit of research on it. I don't want to be controversial at all, hence why I've suggested people do their own research, but just want to point out that the slick marketing of Operation Christmas Child is quite far removed from the actual reality.

I'm sure places like local hospitals, womens refuges, old peoples homes etc would all appreciate donations of shoebox type gifts.

I didn't know about Samaritans Purse until recently, where I read about it on another forum. On there, Samaritans Purse came on and threatened court proceedings against a number of posters on the thread. Is that really the action of a christian organisation? Anyway, am sure people on here are quite capable of making their own mind, I just thought I would bring it to people's attention as I am sure there are many people, who like me until recently, weren't aware of the full ins and outs of Operation Christmas Child and the organisation behind it.

i am so shocked about this. my nearest village, does several hundred boxes involving the local school, and we knew it was a christian charity but do not beleive that a gift should be used in this way, I will certainly be looking for another charity that does not have hidden motives,

Same as me. Im sure COS are using my last receipts to decide which offers to do :D :rotfl::rotfl: Not Carling but I did submit a receipt with tons of BE products on last week. I was re-stocking DS2 junk food.

I haven't bought birds eye in ages apart from the free stuff. They also sent an email last week to say the offer was coming.

    It's also on Quidco.

I was very shocked as well when I found out the facts, that's what I mean about a slick marketing campaign! More and more people are finding out about it though and making headteachers aware, who are then pulling out and choosing to support other campaigns.

I've not been keeping up with emails and stuff very well lately :o so I missed it. Im sure I have room in the freezer to squeeze a few more boxes of junk in :D Most of the BE stuff has shrunk so much lately that it doesn't go anywhere near as far as it used to. DS2 was complaining about the size of the crispy chicken only the other day
