On this point I have to disagree, I print off even the smallest APGS -
Every penny that you save that stays in your account rather than in the shops is precious
I don't bother with 27p ones, and even these days - sometimes it's quite haphazard, depending on how I happen to feel on a given day - I've printed off 60p ones in the past sometimes, if there's a single specific item I wanted of that value - but then I've let 98p ones past at another time. Just hopeless in the context of a £7 one elsewhere. This enters the whole Orinocco debate (if I can spell that and I probably can't:rotfl:) and I certainly wouldn't print off a 1p voucher when the nominal cost of firing up your printer, electricity and printing just for one voucher is 5p.
Really, in the grand scheme of things, it ought to be £3-odd on my shop anyway as that was the 'true' difference, but really, if it were a womble, not printing it, which should be with the original shopper, is meaning that A wasn't 10% cheaper on that shop when it should have been - and it does add up and back into Mr A's pockets. Then again, loads of receipts do not get checked ever and get destroyed. I think I commented some time that I managed to find about three good wombles all from one store timed within the space of an hour of each other. I only managed to find three. But, given how many many many more shops would have been done - just at that one store - in the same time and how many may not have been 10% cheaper or how many at that time across all stores in the country - it beggars not to be thought of about how much is going unchecked and overpaid (compared to the 10%) sometimes by pounds. That is, I'm sure, part of the 'plan' though - they know that only a tiny percentage of transactions ever get checked and they do not have to be 10% cheaper - indeed often they set their prices on some 'everyday' items for example, exactly the same prices as elsewhere, not 10% cheaper than it - and it's this that helps make the APG for them a success. I suspect, if every receipt got checked or the refund was automatic, the 10% cheaper part would not be sustainable.
EDIT: I've now corrected the spelling - as per post number 1 - and I noticed that the word "Orinocco" is given as "recurring terminology" on the first post, but hardly "recurring" at all, given that it does seem to be a rarely used word even on these forums.0 -
