Best before dates are ridiculously short with eggs.
The most effective test is the float test.
Unsure of an egg?
Pop it in a jug of water.
If it sinks it's super fresh.
If it is suspended in the water, it can still be used for baking.
If it floats, sling it.
Eggs are porous so the older the egg, the larger the air sac.
Too many good eggs are thrown unnecessarily.
Housewives of all previous generations used this method before certain agencies deemed fit to have all eggs stamped for the consumers.

We've been reading a lot about eggs in the last few days. I never knew that eggs bought off the shelf in the supermarket can be anything up to 4 weeks old :eek:
That's what I get for not eating eggs
So why am I planning on getting chickens for the new allotment?! :j:rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Not been on here for a while so sorry if it's already been mentioned. If anyone needs a bottle of Jack Daniels, the 1 litre bottle is on promotion in Sainsbobs, down from £33 to £20. Great if you have a conditional spend to use up or hopefully it will match in sada and you'll get it for £18 then.
I remember posting the same thing last year :rotfl:
Edit: No good for Sainsbobs as alcohol not included:happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0 -
Was just going to post about this. Has anyone opened an account with the co op bank and switched a current account to them please ?
They sent a list of id they needed. None suitable to a 16yr old. Then when we phoned they said oh you should have got other list. But still wasnt suitable. They want certified id by gp or solicitor. We are not paying to open this account.
Guy says do you want to lodge a complaint as they have all her details. They spelt her name wrong too. Bit carp from the start. Will see what they say0 -
