[Trying to make first post a bit shorter, so reposting this bit.]

Just before I get starting on it all (and that's in addition to the normal 'new' items Avs M etc.) and I'm not posting any extra posts btw, just to note the instore ad I heard about Match & More. And, yes, I've had to try to remember what that said!

About M price-matching, so why would you need to shop anywhere else? Er... because M is cheaper, therefore I'd get zero Match points for them being cheaper and so it is best shopping elsewhere, namely in A for 10% off M's prices (subject to no "More" points offer making it cheaper, in the final end:mad:) or in T for the use of a cond spend, extra CC points, and price match back vs M?

And..."you can sit back" therefore! According to the ad!

Absolutely the worst possible thing you could ever do - the worst thing to do is to sit back, the very thing that you need to do is get active and absolutely not sitting back and make sure you know the prices of every item there and at every competitor. Only then can you know if you are getting the best deal, rather than having any points offset and removed by any items that are more expensive elsewhere.

It makes perfect sense for stores to want people to sit back and relax, secure in the reassurance and knowledge that the store is 'price matching' and 'you don't need to go elsewhere' (according to them!). It encourages people not to shop around and get the best deal. It encourages people to assume that the items they buy are best value where they are buying them. As for the "More" points on items that are quite high priced in M, and most people will not get the difference in price on those individual items to the cheapest competitor as they mix their shops up, it's alright though and it works - as the vast majority of people have absolutely no clue at all as to what is a good price on anything other than a very few items, such as milk, bread and bananas. So, they don't perform any of this analysis at all, as to whether the item with the points is worth it and whether or not it might be cheaper elsewhere. They have no clue: and it's more likely that they will pick up high priced items, with or without points - the points there merely as another marketing thing to try to get a purchase made - but to have mixed up their shop and, if anything, get a few pence worth on "Match". And then be "re-assured" that, oh, they were only a few pence more and the match scheme has refunded them anyway.

In short, doing it right, it does make shopping more complicated!

    Hello all :)

I just got told a little loop-hole today for anyone who is flying Easyjet anytime soon- if you don't fancy shelling out a bucket load for luggage, try and get a premium leg-room seat. Automatically means you're entitled to a larger cabin bag- which is the only free luggage you can take.

I got quoted £74 for me and my mate to take two normal sized suitcases to Iceland. Laughed a lot. The poor Indian guy on the phone didn't know what to say. The funny thing is they only show you additional baggage prices for one way. So I said to him 'so it would be cheaper for me if I took my luggage to Iceland and just left it there like a drug smuggler' :rotfl:

Bet I'm on some kind of list now but it was just so ridiculous. Why would you only show the one way price? Who takes their luggage on holiday with them and just leaves it?

Oh wish I'd know that last week! Will possibly be booking again soon so will def investigate. Thanks for posting :)
