Aww that is hard when you have your first child. I think I was lucky that I worked in civil service at the time and they offered things like temporary PT hours/term time hours/career breaks etc. I also had my Dad around then who helped out a lot with childcare.
    As you say......circumstances

She didn't want to go back full time and didn't think part time was an option but seems it might be but of course no family near might make it difficult.

She is lucky her partner is in a good enough job to support them both but it will make owning a place of their own a distant dream.

Was Trafford centre why you got up early for dd or was it just so near and not worth going home until pick up time?

I found a nice large Wimbledon for my cos yesterday and went into my account and the £10 had disappeared. Logged out by mistake and back in again and there it was. Had a processing email but no confirmation yet. Got very cheap phone in mr t yesterday but nothing else on our happy scan.

Visit to see Dad went very well. Yesterday tea time he was pleased to see us but we were dismissed after his tea. Today we expected a bad visit as Friday was so good. He had just woken but soon chatting away about social history of all things. I told him about the BBC programme on the Glasgow tenements and he is keen to see it so will see if I can find a link somewhere. Lovely animated conversation and we stayed nearly two hours. He must have been shattered but we were not actually dismissed today.
I know he was thrilled that mum had come with me.

He moves to the care home Monday and he seems quite keen to go. Not sure he will feel the same once there but have a plan b (and 2 plan c)

Slight disagreement with my sister but all sorted now.

I was definitely very lucky with my visits this weekend but came home and cried. Felt like a good release and not something I have done after seeing him. It had felt strange holding it all in though.
    Better out than in.

Very tired tonight but mum only woke me up twice last night with her snoring and I got an early night. Too tired to settle though so will forget the bit of forum I missed and catch up on today.
Definitely a chill out day tomorrow.

DD was invited to a birthday party at the ski/snow place. Only 52 miles away and she wanted to go  so I was at a loose end for a few hours and the Trafford centre was 'just there' :o

Im glad you've had a good cry. Sometimes it definately is better out than in. Just don't look in the mirror afterwards  :p

Do let us know how Monday goes :A

There's not many of these left for anyone that wants to buy one......it came up at the thing I was at the other day.

For those that commented on how little the charities involved were receiving.......at the outset this was never intended to benefit charities. It's an art installation made purely to commemorate a very important time in our history. The charities that are now benefiting from the sales of these are absolutely delighted to be doing so. For the costs involved in producing them, I think they are so worth it. I will treasure mine when they arrive
I didn't realise you could buy then, I thought it was semi permanent. Do you have a link FC?
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.
