Well our ongoing water leak that has been flowing down the road for the last 10 days turned into a river today. We have had 2 visits today from United Futilities, the third time they have been out this week They came out and set up traffic lights, dug a huge hole in the road, set up a pump, made it ten times worse and then left.
So about 8 phone calls to the leak line this week and they don't seem to have any notes so each time you have to tell the operator the same sorry story all over again.
Our water was shut off at about 2 this afternoon so no loo, shower, washing up water etc. 1stly they just shut half the street off but then they came back and now the entire street is off - still the water is flowing - work that one out.
The leak is outside a house 2 doors down and the chap who lives there is livid, he has been outside stalking the huge hole they dug up all afternoon and shouting at the workers when they made an appearance. He has a disabled daughter but even so it's not classed as a priority
After 12 hours apparently we will qualify for a tankard of water - they take us off the mains and plumb us into a lorry load of water - fun. No idea where they would put this tankard.
Another set of lorries, a crane and workers have just arrived - have to see what happens now ...

I now have to decide whether to pay £1.60 per month to BT (not impressed) to keep my email address or make a new one up and tell everyone but that seems a daunting thought. Has anyone done this and is it easier than I'm expecting please ;)
I opted to pay for it agter leaving BT about 5-10 years ago. I have never yet been charged. I did get a letter from them about 4 years ago telling me they were going to shut my email as I had not paid, but I called them up informing them that I had opted to pay, just that they had never taken the money. Turns out it wasnt efficient for them to take the small sum of money that it was.
Im not sure, now that it has gone up to £1.60 whether or not they will start taking the money from me, I guess only time will tell.

Good afternoon, emerald if you know someone with a bt account ask them to register your email, I have done this for my dds friend, doesn't affect my account and I have no access to to his email but bt let you register so many seemed a waste for him to pay.:)
Would you need to close down your email address first, before they could do this, as I might have to investigate this further if they ever do start charging me.
