My wife just accused me of being immature..
I was so annoyed that I told her to get out of my fort at once!:D"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" Benjamin Franklin

Here is a philosophical question - has anyone kept going with a one sided friendship over a long period of time?
I had a massive falling out with a friend last weekend - no idea what the real problem was but everything I did, said, thought, every suggestion I made was wrong - she is under a lot of stress so I think that is the under lying issue.
I did apologize twice but I still don't really know what I did wrong. In the end she stormed off and went home - I think she did not even want to be there in the first place.
I am very thick skinned and took no offense at what was said superficially (although its upset me all week as we have had a good relationship for years)
since then Ive heard nothing from them - this is normal though, when she is busy with work it can be weeks between phone calls or face times.
My own gang who all live far far away on the other side of the galaxy are often out of contact for long periods of time - the usual work/social life stuff but I still keep in touch with them, however busy and one sided - most days I send them funny emails and jokes, photos of the cats or the garden, recipes, links to interesting news articles etc.
I know I am only on the outside of their lives now but at least they know I am still alive and still here as and when they fancy honouring me with a phone call or a chat or even a visit
And I do the same with the friend - keep in touch as and when as I do with my own brood. Again she lives on another planet, busy job, social life etc.
It occurred to me today that maybe this row was more serious than the normal run of the mill spats and what if that is it, I wont see her again or get a response from her- maybe not even the usual Christmas, Birthdays and crisis times. She does come from a family renowned for holding life long grudges.
In the meantime I will just keep going with the usual facebook messages and emails etc and mostly carrying on as normal as if last weekend never happened.
Eventually things will cool down and she will get to the other side of whatever problem she is working through and then maybe we will get a phone call.
Or maybe not.
It made me wonder if anyone else had kept going with a one sided relationship for years on end?
I have "ditched" a friend that I had for years She became so bossy and was always right She needed to know the smallest details of things that happened and could recall them :rotfl: when I had long forgotten whatever had irked me. She had loads of family and friends always out and about so not lonely
I have not seen her for over a year and don't actually miss her but I do find that sad
All friendships have to have give and take Only you will know if you will really miss her (hugs)0 -
I seem to have picked up quite a lot of the Asda mags, don't think I will use them all.0

For those of you who already have enough hair oils and would like something different with a good return, these are two likely candidates for an approximate apg of £6.80 on a £10 spend A v T. Buy one of each or two the same and one trigger.0

That was an interesting trip home
Woman gets on the bus with her son and sits behind me. Son no older than my 11 year old nephew, but probably younger.
They were talking about respect, and while he'd been brought up to have respect, so many children weren't being brought up that way. They then started talking about discipline, and that the cane was still around when she was in school. He said that he thought the cane was mean, but hanging was a different matter and thinks they should bring it back!
I get home and there is a parcel just next to my doorstep. Few minutes later someone knocked on my door and asked if I'd picked it up, as she'd moved it earlier from my doorstep proper to away from it, so it would blend in more with the colour of my house!
All very weird today. No more bus until Monday :j :j :jI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. I now have to decide whether to pay £1.60 per month to BT (not impressed) to keep my email address or make a new one up and tell everyone but that seems a daunting thought. Has anyone done this and is it easier than I'm expecting please
I switched to GMail for the very reason you are stating - getting tied to one internet provider. I had been with C&W/NTL/Virgin Media for over 10 years so had always had the same email address which concerned me. As it happens, after I had gone to the trouble of changing most of my accounts over to my new Gmail account, I went back to Virgin Media anyway but my VM/ntlworld email remains my backup and my main account is now Gmail so that I am free to switch.
Do it - you won't look back and can then switch internet providers with ease to take up the cashback offers!

Well, thats better than what I couldn't help but overhear on the train the other day as the person spoke so loudly on the phone about someone that had hung them selfSomething unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

I will probably get shot for this, but I agree with the child. :A
If I ever get the bus, all I hear is "Well that Chantelle from down the estate got herself pregnant and now she has a free Council house, so you should do it too" or giving each other tips on how to get more benefits. I must live in a deprived area compared to you.:o:o
How is everyone?0
