I think its one of those foods you grow out of...then every now and again you'll return to it...

Bit like a kebab...you live off them when you're young
then wont go near them...until it suddenly seems a good idea after a night out...and actually you find it wasnt as bad as you thought......but only very occaisionally!

Its probably over a year ago that we last had those sausages(if you can call them that)...after a family night out...they went down ok then ...but that might have been more to do with right time right place rather than a desire to have them again.

We knew a guy that worked for plumrose but I don't think the quality is there anymore. Just opinion./

PS never had a kebab ever !!

Here is a very odd one.

Just checked to see what I need to buy for Quidco clicksnap - just the little dog food for the doggy food bank :D

I noticed I had a declined cashback for Travelodge for £9 - that was puzzling in itself as I have one Travelodge booking done very recently but previously I think it was about this time last year and I don't think Travelodge do Quidco cashback and anyway its mostly Topcashback I use these days.

Then I had another look and the booking was for September 2010
So the £9 wasn't the cashback but the actual amount I paid :T

No idea what it is but I know that when eldest child was at uni we used to stay in a Travelodge close by and when I first got to find out about Travelodge sale days I would get up at 6 to make bookings and one time we managed to get bookings for January, feb and March and they would have been £9 and £19 rooms

(Needless to say the same rooms at the same time of year are now £29 or £32 cheapest midweek and not a cat in hells chance of getting a Saturday night for under £120 :D )

Sorry rhosynbach you may not want to hear this but ,
Killer jars bottles etc were further reduced in my sains ,

Eg the 0.35l round clip was £1.87 with 25% but now reduced to £1.25 :T
    1l square now £1.75.

Sparkly...ive used S basics mince in the past, and its not that bad...just make sure you drain the fat off of it before you add anything to it.

Recently ive also been using the T 500g for £2 again not bad once its drained.

As you say you can pack the chilli out with some other bits so I would go for it.

Ok, I think I'll do it. I've got some morries mince in the freezer from the meat voucher. Maybe I'll do a half and half that and the basics. And like mhoc suggested, I'll do a coleslaw.

I've got plenty soured cream, might do a salsa (cheapo recipes welcome), and going to do 3 bags of jacket spuds. Also, got some tortilla chips from a while back that will go with it.

OOPS then I remember we cant really do that because of forum rules...

Rhos...hope you get your jars at a good price,I guess having no near S is the price you pay for living in such beautiful tranquility.

Hi everyone, after some advice really before I go shopping.

Tomorrow I am catering for a party and have agreed to make a chilli and spuds for 60 people. Sainsburys basics mince is half price at 75p for 400g. I wouldn't normally get this and was planning on Ms 2 for 3.50 stuff. However, my friend who is paying is really hard up and I want to save her some money.

If I use the basics mince do you think it will taste good? Or shouldn't I risk it? I've got some soured cream rtc 20p a while back and will get the baking spuds on apg comp shop so 1.80 a bag. Got the maxi toms and sp kidney beans and always get an onion as a filler so loads in!

    Advice welcome. Thanks

Hi, real flying visit as off to work.

If you have a Home Bargains near you get your spuds there, 2 kilos of nice potatoes for 55p. HTH.
    Hope is not a strategy.

Does everyone who collects tosco points know about the code that gives 1500 points on a £60 grocery spend? I've just been to collect mine and the points are on!!
It was on head for points recently and I think it runs out on the 20th. For new customers, but I used an old account and it was fine.

I've stocked up on tins and storecupboard stuff.

Google head for points and search tesco for the code, which I can't post here.

edit-code is in the discount code section on mse!! no. 586

So, what's worth getting in tesco at the moment? I presume with the £60 min spend and £10 maximum price promise voucher it's not worth trying to wangle a pp and better just to get as much as possible for the spend?

P.s. I have 2 clubcards that don't get used for shopping online - reckon it'll let me claim the 1500 points on both of them?
