Charge help please

Hi everybody, I received my statements yesterday and i'm calculating the charges just now.

With RBS, we have 34.00 charges every month, this is made up of a 28.00 over limit fee and a 6.00 royalties fee. Does that mean that we cant claim the 6.00 as it's not an unlawful charge?

Also, can we claim back any interest on the overdraft amount?

Thanks
Caroline

I think you should get your answers from the reclaim charges thread at the top of this board (under post 4) but as far as I'm aware you can't claim back interest and royalties fees.
    I'm sure it's just overlimit/overdraft fees,unpaid direct debits etc.

Good luck and I hope you find the info that you need.

  • Thank you AngelWillow, that makes it a lot clearer for me. OK another question though.

What is an unauthorised overdraft limit? Is this going over your limit, hence the 28.00 charge we get every month?

    Thanks

Yes I think so. It's like say you have an overdraft of £500 but you go over that.

Angelwillow, thank you for your list of what can and cannot be claimed for - taking your advise I have just contacted Yorkshire Bank to ask what Debit Interest is ,as they are charging me for it almost every month. As per Yorkshire Bank Debit Interest is commonly known as Normal Overdraft Interest Charges. Thanks again impy
