You forgot the link to your source for the lifetime of solar panels.

    Also a 4kW system costs £6000.

Repayment time on solar panels 12 years. Life time of solar panels 10 years

Uhm, where does it say that the life of solar panels is only 10 years? Most informed commentators say that the inverter may need to be changed at the 10 year point and there may be some reduction in panel efficiency over time. If that wasn't the case then why is the Govt paying me to generate electricity for 25 years?

    Welcome to the forum.

If you are wanting people to contact you, via PM or email, that is not allowed under the rules of MSE. You can post in open forum as long as you are not touting for business.

If you go to the Green and Ethical section of the MSE forum there are many thousands of posts by some experts with the experience of owning PV panels and who keep up to date with current prices etc.

Unfortunately many in the solar PV sales industry have reverted to the days of solar thermal when they were justifiably the target for 'Watchdog' type programmes and led the field in complaints to Trading Standard Offices.

With solar PV the field is now blighted by outrageous claims of income, outrageous prices for the system to be installed and outrageous rates of interest for loans to buy the installation. It would make a double glazing salesman of yesteryear blush.

So I suggest you visit that forum yourself and contribute - who knows you might learn something about the dodgy practices in the industry.
