The calls started at home at 08:20 today and as I walked into work another one came through!
When will they realise that they are not doing themselves any good? I can't settle down to sort out my problems whilst I'm being bombarded like this!0 -

I enjoyed similar harassment to you from this lot. For the enormous sum of £42. They didn't only ring my home amd mobile, but found out where I worked and rang me there too. They were even hostile and abusive to the switch board lady and our team secretaries. My husband answered our home phone to them and tried to get them to send a letter instead of all the calls, but apparently they don't do that...
In the end, after five days of continual harassment, I rang MBNA in tears and threatened legal action for harassment. To be fair when I described what had been happening the girl at MBNA was genuinely shocked, and said she would have the calls stopped immediately. I never got another call from them.
Oh, and ignore Dave Brooker. He's a witless troll.0 -
I have received a letter from Barclaycard in response to my asking them to cease harassing me by 'phone stating: "Our Terms and Conditions and The Banking Code permits us to contact customers by whatever means are available if a contractual agreement is broken and no payment received."
Is this correct? I am still being deluged by 'phone calls, morning, noon and night, seven days a week, at home, at work and on my mobile!0 -
It may be worth pointing out to them that there is a slight difference between "contacting customers" and "harassing people".0

If it wasn't so serious it would be funny! I've had 3 calls to my mobile in just over an hour from Sainsburys Bank and each time I've told the caller that I will not discuss the matter on the 'phone and that I've written to them at least 4 times. Will they not take the hint?0

Read this and quote the exact section that they arwe breaking. It may be worth having a look at one or two of the internal OFT reports on what they consider haressment, but multiple telephone call in a day are haressment.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Section 2.2 of the OFT guidelines clearly state that examples of unfair practice include:
f. 'contacting debtors at unreasonable times'
g. 'ignoring or disregarding debtors' legitimate wishes in respect of when and where to contact them...........'
h. 'asking debtors to contact them on premium rate numbers.'
I could go on.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Dont let them win. I would change numbers where possible or get the unknown numbers blocked at least. If you have got a payment plan and are sticking to it just ignore them, there is not much they can do except maybe court and that will done through the post not the phone. They are relying or you giving in.
My OH was getting several calls from Halifax. I kept answering the phone and it was driving me mad. I ended up shouting, swearing (kids out of the room lol) and then threatened to get my OH to claim back the unfair charges. That seemed to work.:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0
