cleaning black marks from bricks

I have some bricks on a garage at the top which has a flat roof

the bricks are all black which I assume is from the water over the years- I have seen you can get acid based brick cleaner etc to remove the stains but wandered if that is more for mould on driveways- what is the best way to remove these marks and where can I buy a product that would take care of this?

Acid based brick cleaner is intended to remove mortar from bricks. As to whether it will remove other stains I cannot say, as I have only ever used it to remove mortar stains.

By the way, does anyone know why the signatures are showing up as mostly exclamation marks.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

We have just used a water blaster to clean bricks in our garden that make up the border and they have come up like new.
