Exchange day- around when does it happen on the day?

I'm due to exchange today and have been waiting for a call from solicitor but nothing yet and he's in meeting right now.

At what time of day does it tend to happen have you found? OMG I'm so jittery!

Perhaps the meeting is your exchange?

Could happen any time of the day. I'd be very surprised if you don't get a phone call once it's all done!

phone the EA...they were the ones who phoned me and said I could collect the keys from them....
    my solicitor's
took a further 3 hours after I had collected keys to say we had completed.

officially its once money has been transferred and confirmed as received by the vendors solicitors...at some point in this process the EA will be instructed that its ok to release keys etc

So I sent my solicitor an email before lunch and he replied to say that apparently reviewing my file there are few enquiries which were never answered! Why only now he's realised this is beyond me. He had over a week to fine tooth comb whilst waiting for vendor to sign contracts on their side.

I replied back to his email asking why now this has come to light but got an out of office - he isn't back till 3! So much for exchange day.

Mine happened around 4pm last Friday. But it was supposed to have occurred three days before, so don't hold your breath!

No. It was hoped to happen 3 days before.

It was supposed to happen when everything and everyone was ready and not before.
