RAC breakdown cover question

Considering taking out breakdown cover from the RAC ...so two quick questions..

They are currently offering £30 of free fuel with the roadside, home _recovery option...if I go through topcashback they say £47.50 cashback...so if I go through TCB would I get both the fuel and cashback?..... here's hoping

Also if my power steering were to be leaking a bit... how long before I can call them out?

Thanks

Breakdown recovery is designed to get you going again if you breakdown at the roadside, so long as it is a simple fix. Work requiring garage attention doesn't come under their remit. That is where relay services come in and even then, they will take you to a garage where you will still be expected to pay for the repair.

For a simple PAS leak, forget the RAC, just take the car to a garage and get it fixed properly.

Even if it does fail completely, you will still be able to drive, though the steering will be heavy.

I was in this situation when my new Ford lost all of it's steering fluid in just a few yards. It was actually a fault all of that model were then recalled for, but it was deemed safely drivable and I was then left to get to the dealer by myself. :(
  • yeah ..thanks .Muskey.....I did clear that up in post 2...meaning if it were to fail whilst driving..I know they're not there to service my car.....already experienced those horrible whirring banshee noises...and steering juddering bit am keeping fluid topped up..
I've re-posted this in 'Motoring' ...think it belongs there
