help with 14kg 136cm parcel

My parcel weighs around 14kg, 136cm x 61cm x 17cm I quoted just £12 using P2Go quote I now find size restrictions mean it will cost more. However I'm getting more and more confused. P2Go can offer me TNT yet if I alter the measurement to 135cm Citylink also comes up as a service at around £16 ex vat, yet strangely if I go to the Citylink website it says the parcel is too large as they have a 200 max overall H x W x d measurement. So I assume P2Go is accepting my booking in error as it exceeds the restrictions.

I then tried Topcashback with Myparceldelivery and confusingly City Link comes up as a service using the 136cm measurements for just £12 ex vat!

I've not used Myparceldelivery before but if they are accepting my weight and measurements and offering me the service should it be ok to book?

Why are things so complicated!

To confuse me even more I've just been on Parcelmonkey and it also accepted the 136cm measurements for City Link and gave me a quote of £13 inc vat!

I sent a fireside chair using parcelmonkey for about the same cost as you've been quote and all was well.

I too found that + or - even 1 or 2 cm made a difference to the cost.

Not necessarily. A lot of couriers have different requirements between resellers, company contracts and one off customers.
If the Myparceldelivery is Yodel then I wouldn't use either based on terrible past experiences.
If it's an Ebay item you could try the Parcelforce services offered via them. You can input the size and weight and it will give you the price menu. I haven't used any of them lately so not sure on price. I do know Parcelforce offer a 'large' service.

Parcelforce via eBay Postage is OK, £13.19
    max length 1.5m & 2m combined girth 61+17x2=1.56cm
City Link is max length 2m + 30Kg Volumetric

Hi, thank you so much, just booked via Ebay with Parcelforce for £13. Have never used Ebay postage link before but have always just imported items to P2Go or Myhermes. Rates appear cheaper via Ebay. P2Go says it can't go by Parcelforce as it is too big!

Talk about getting a headache! Just got back from dropping parcel off at post office who said parcel was too big for Parcelforce and Ebays postage booking system must be wrong. She got a tape measure out and checked the measurements and said it was over 300cm in total so was too big. The Parcelforce man was there at the time and he took the parcel anyway. On Ebay I input the weight, length, width and depth and the relevant services came up, I chose 24 hours at £13.10 and it ok'd it and I paid and printed label and was told to drop parcel off at PO. Yet it is still wrong!

I am never going to post another large parcel again, just way too much hassle!!
