Hi I'm after some advice please.
We will be travelling from liverpool to the Isle of Man for a funeral. Neither me or my brother have a valid passport and by the info I can find so far, Ryan Air and another I can't remember the name of won't allow you on the plane without a passport.
The info I need is how can my son fly without a passport? Is it possible at all. He is 15 and obviously has a birth certificate but he has no photo ID. I have tried ringing liverpool airport but haven't been able to get through so far. Just thought I'd ask here for some info.

Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.

Not a hope on Ryanair, Easy Jet or any other budget airline.
BA a couple of years back only needed driving license, but as a 15 year old you would have to phone them.
Realistically, you're probably looking at the ferry.0 -
Thanks for replying. I had a feeling it would be the ferry
I'm going to try everything first before I have to get on a boat :rotfl:

However Ryanair don't fly to the IOM so the point is somewhat mooteasyJet wrote:Children under the age of 16 travelling on domestic flights in the UK, France, Spain and Portugal are not required to provide identification if accompanied by an adult who can vouch for the child’s identity.
Flybe do fly to the IOM and allow photo id for adults and no ID for children

The only airline you will have a problem with is Ryanair
They are not a uk airline so don't feel they need to follow the uk standard of accepting bus passes , driving licences etc in lieu of a gvt issued photo card0 -
Thanks for the help :T honestly I've been searching for ages in between trying to contact liverpool airport.... I'm obviously rubbish on the internet.
40 minutes by plane beats 4+ hours on the ferry every time.Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -

To be honest the last few times we have crossed we have taken the ferry and enjoyed it a hell of a lot more then the flights
Now we look at the ferry costs and convince before flights0 -
