Smart Parking used old surname

Hi All,
I am currently going through a dispute with Smart Parking following the newbies process over a fake PCN received at Asda store in Portsmouth. I have so far complained to the Asda store and head office but only received a letter back advising me to discuss with Smart Parking directly. I have now received my notice to driver and I am about to appeal to the PPC themselves but I have noticed that Smart Parking have sent the letter to my previous (un-married) name and claim they received these details from the DVLA although the DVLA have my correct details. Is this worth mentioning in the appeal, would it help / hinder my case or will it make no odds?
Please advise.

It won't make a great deal of difference - your situation means very little to these guys.
Far better to stick to the porven challenge/appeal points outlined in the Newbies Sticky.

Makes no odds.
But send Smart the first appeal template (the one in the Newbies thread now) online and I reckon they will fold. They usually do when they see a forum appeal. You could put your unmarried name at the bottom just so it matches the Notice to Keeper and to stop them having any issue about who you are, appealing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Although it will probably make no difference in the long run, it is probably worth checking with the DVLA and, if the PPC are lying, challenge them. The more you challenge the PPC, the more it costs them. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

If they didn't get it from DVLA how else would they have even got your previous surname? If it was an error on their part then it's hell of a coincidence.
Not sure why it would make a difference to anything though0
