Faulty Nexus 7 advice needed

Hello, my son has recently bought a Nexus 7(26th August )which we have already had to exchange due to charging problems (replaced 11th September with no issues) Now the new Nexus has also developed a similar charging fault. As we have now had issues with two of the same product, we were wondering where we stood with regard to a refund or swapping for something similar, possibly an ipad. We took out insurance (know how care plan/ pc world) when the first Nexus was returned.Any advice would be great before we go back to the store, and possibly get fobbed off. Thanks

You could ask to swap for something similar but expect to pay the difference.
What is the charging issue? Its rare to have two Nexus exhibit that kind of fault. There was a fault with the earlier Nexus 7's where the batter connector became disconnected due to them not hot gluing the connector to the main board.0 -
Thanks for taking the time to reply krisdorey. The socket where the charger go's seems to have become dislodged and whilst on charge seems to be loosing charge rather than recharging. The previous device kept showing white noise screen and wouldn't turn on or charge.0

As it is over a month (28 days, in reality) since purchase, it'll be sent for repair. If the socket has become dislodged, then it could be down to what Asus would deem as a mishap. But this probably works in your favour - if you have the careplan then it will be sent to the Knowhow repair centre (av. turnaround time 7/8 days depending on your area) as opposed to Asus' own repair centre (av. turnaround time 14 -20 days).
It's unlikely you'll get the option to swap, but nothing was ever lost by asking!Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

While you're deciding what to do don't forget the Nexus 7 (2013) has wireless charging which you could still use if the usb is broken.0
