Power Down

I used to have a fantastic device called a Power Down from e.on.

Essentially you plugged your PC in the top and then the peripherals in the sides. What the device did was to cut power to the peripherals when the main PC was not being used. This was fantastically useful.

I remember getting a couple of these free (Dad still has one on his PC) but I cant find mine anywhere, and a quick Google has lead me to not being able to find where I could get another, without paying.

Anyone have any idea if these are still available for free?

    Hi David

Just thought I'd pop on to let you know that we don't supply the E.ON Powerdowns anymore.

Sorry I can't help more with this, although you might be interested in some stuff on our website to help you save money by saving energy.

The energy saving quiz is a bit of fun and might give you a few ideas to help save energy. Watch out for those vampires as well. Don't let them suck too much electricity unnecessarily.

Freecycle is about the only place you'll find one of them for FREE.

But you need to keep your eyes peeled, and be prepared to act quickly. Any FREE stuff like that is quickly snapped up by those looking to make a quick profit on ebay.

But as you can buy them for less than £3.50 delivered (maybe less if you want to try your luck on an auction), and you'll probably spend more on fuel & phone calls if you find a FREE one, then I suggest you splash part of the £12 your electricity supplier is giving you on a purchase.

If they are any use to you, then hopefully you will soon save the £3.50 in energy savings
