Have you thought of a saving account with atm card? See Internet Saver

Looked good but doesn't seem to allow wages to be paid into it?
Your initial deposit can be by cheque. Any cheques subsequently received will be returned to you. . We do not accept Postal Orders . Additional deposits (minimum £1) must be transfers, either from another bank or building society account, e.g. by standing order, or another account held with the Yorkshire. Deposits by account transfer will start to earn interest on the day they are credited to your0 -

You have always been able to apply by phone but never online, good luck with your application.:pB&SC No. 298

The above followed on from a change-of-policy regarding Bankruptcy, on the part of Co-op.
The advice refers to Co-op's current policy of not opening new [Cashminder] accounts to a customer who is an Undischarged Bankrupt.
Co-op's online application system is much like that of any other bank.....it refers to a customer's credit record, and anything like insolvency, or even defaults, gets red-flagged.
Nothing unusual in this..it happens in other fields of finance as well, for example, insurance? [how many times have we applied online for a quote, only to be told to 'phone this number?']
Applying directly to a real person allows for the application of discretion. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

Surely payments can be paid in by bank transfer from your employer? The account has a number /reference and a sort code - have you checked with the Yorkshire?
I have one of these accounts and have regular electronic payments from an external source.0
