Just tried logging in via the BT website - worked fine (once I'd remembered my details - I rarely use it).

Oh bonjour bod - on phone to them again now.

    USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS.

Finally a real person spoke - 24 mins' wait. English extremely ltd. I am rabid old leftie[if to right of Attilla The Hun, as late blvd would fondly say] with LTCL, teacher/performer, acute hearing and long, long tolerance, but still no go.

Anyway, 'your a/c has been restricted'.
    Me:
    WHY? Restore it.

I have to speak again into the robot bit and say 'premium email', which is supposed to advance things.

    On verra.

    Excuse my rant mode, please.

It's hardly unusual for BT email to give up the ghost, my sister regularly complains about it, and when she does I have a quick google which usually finds plenty of other complaints and often an admission from BT that there is a problem. The only question really is why anybody would stick with them (or indeed, with any ISP-provided email)?

Well my ISP Plusnet's email has worked pretty well flawlessly 24/7 since I joined them in 2008....and no 'login problems'
Which is more than can be said for the various free ones with which I also have email addresses.
