You're absolutely right, but I work to buy time back and then to buy experiences until the two meet. If I didn't afford myself time off now to do the things I love would I ever? And if not, what would be the point of all this?
Our household expenditure was probably £2k this month all inclusive. After taking a little more for investments this morning, I have invested £17k this month. Thats an 89.5% savings rate.0 -
You are doing well. But do schedule time off after baby arrives.0

Over the weekend, we looked at the opportunity of possibly taking 1 or 2 months in Spain next year, relocating but myself working my standard 9-5 remotely. Life has a habit of throwing curveballs, so I think taking action now while parents are fit and healthy, will allow us an opportunity to springboard travel in the future.
Surprisingly all parties are 100% on board with this. My wife will still be on maternity, so her role in the office will be covered and we'll bring in an additional team member to cover the phones, so it keeps the pressure off the brother. With me in full contact, this should be a bonus for us.
Zero working distractions = more productivity and allowance to sell more. Which is what I'm good at.0 -

We've a lot to research, but I am pretty excited and extremely nervous.
If all works out to plan, it could allow us to do the travelling we want before the baby is school age and without the issue of leaving the business for extended periods.
It could be a complete flop, but if you don't try, you'll never know0 -
All going great on the planning front. Investing, planning, working and sleeping well. Keep being advised to get my sleep in now because in 10 weeks or so, I'll not be getting any....
Seeing a lovely little run in my investments, but I'll invest as normal in my ISA and with VLS 100%.0 -
Sorry but that's slightly ridiculous. There's absolutely no reason why such things can't be done abroad! Possibly you'll have to pay for it but a minor consideration surely.
It isn't ridiculous. As a mother and a scientist it needs doing and on time. And could be problematic esp if you dont speak spanish and aren't registered. So yes you would probably have to pay for it and arrange it in advance.
You'd also have to know exactly what is needed and when for your child, and not all countries vaccinate for all diseases. One pertinent in this case is Meningitis C which was only agreed by UK authorities last week.
Are you so expert as to know if Spain offers the jab? I would want my child to have it0 -
