PRE-PAID Cards - Which is best?

Hi,
I'm currently on a DMP which means a have a 'billy basic' bank account with Halifax. This account does supply me with a debit card, however it is only Visa Electron.
I am becoming increasingly frustrated that not many places online accept visa electron as a method of payment.
So is a pre-paid card the answer for one off purchases when I need it?
What does everyone think?
And what pre-paid cards are out there? What is best? Mastercard or Maestro?
Many Thanks

I am currently looking at this right now and I feel a mastercard would be better as some places don't even accept maestro just visa or mastercard. Let me know if you find a good one!0

It may be of interest but other people who have visa electron cards like myself, have put their card payment details into online sites that do not display visa electron but do display visa and in some cases the payment has been accepted, so it is always worth trying to pay with visa electron even in shops displaying visa it is always worth a try.0
