Old travellers cheques, unable to cash.

Hi, first wasn't sure exactly where to put this, so guessed here
I've just had a clear out and found some travellers cheques that I signed in the wrong place, I seemed to remember the cashier wouldn't touch them when on holiday at the time. And when I returned to the UK, my building society wouldn't either. I filed them away to be seen to later and forgot about them.
They are dollar American express cheques worth $350 from 2003, is there any way that I can reclaim the money back from these?
Many thanks in advance, Dave.

Traverllers Cheques do not expire, fewer places accept them now but I know the Post Office still does.
Of course, if the problem is where you have signed them then IIRC (and it is a very long time since I used them so YMMV) There was always a contact number on them or their wallet or somewhere
and you could call this up and request replacements for "soiled" cheques - so that would be my first port of call.
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
Just to confirm, I managed to cash these at my local Barclays no problem, after advice from AE themselves

Know it's an old post but I have 700€ travellers cheques that I bought for a France ski trip '08 and no place would cash them they lay unused til a trip to Nerja last year. I took one to a local exchange shop and you'd have thought I had brandished a gun as I was shouted at and chased from shop. anyhow is there any way I can get my €700 without exchanging back to £'s Travalex the issuer won't do this.
I've lost the copy of numbers they issue you with.0 -

Travelex sold them to you but who issued them?
It is the issuer you should Google for a way forward.0 -
They will be likely be MasterCard / Thomas Cook branded but it seems odd that Travelex won't cash them at their face Euro value. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
