Lost International Wire Transfer

Hi, Wasn't sure which was the best place to put this, so move if required. Basically, I sold some shares through Morgan Stanley (USA) £12k+. Filled in the wire details they requested asking them to send to my Barclays account in the UK. They were sent 25th Sept. Barclays sent back to Morgan Stanley on the 29th Sept as they said that not all info was filled in. (missing sort code) Since then, neither bank can tell me where the money is. Barclays say they sent it and have given me a reference for that. Morgan Stanley keep just saying all they can do is wait until it hits the account. They say they have put a trace on the account several times but I am not convinced they are actively looking for it, rather just waiting. Any idea what my next step could be to recover the funds?! They were needed urgently so this is very inconvenient as I have needed to empty my current account and credit card to bridge the gap while waiting for these funds. Any help appreciated.

Barclays say they sent it and have given me a reference for that.
Can you clarify this statement? Who are "they" and what is "it"?0 -
Barclays have stated that they have returned the payment as of the 29th Sept due to missing required information. Barclays being the receiving bank
Hope this clarifies0 -
For which I take as, Barclays never actually received the funds, they rejected before this point0

I don't think there's much you can do other than keep chasing Morgan Stanley, the ball is in their court at the moment. If it was being sent by a UK bank we could offer more advice based on knowledge of the banking system here, but you are dependent on a mixture of US banking and SWIFT, so it's beyond the knowledge of most people.0

Thought as much!
