Hi

Its that question again, i did do a seach but couldnt see anything so apologies for any repetitiveness.

New boiler fitted this year its not a combi boiler. I heat with gas and thats it, I would have to have the immersion heater on for water but maybe do that once a week for an hour when im washing floors etc as we have an electric shower so don't need tanks of hot water.

I have a thermostat in my hallway.

So is it cheaper to have boiler on all the time with thermostat set at say 18 for example so boiler cuts in when temp drops. OR
Am i best just putting it on for an hour here and there,

Status is i work from home daughter how at school all day

Thanks in advance

General consensus is that it is not efficient to leave it all day, unless you have an A rated (check your EPC) property. :)

Your comfort has to come into the equation somewhere, so it becomes 'What can you put up with?'

Lol, no worries. There's a lot of chatter in that thread and some differences of opinion so well worth a look if you have some time. :)
