Builder, Westbuild Homes refuses to sell to me after reserved (fee paid)

Yeah that is my plan.
Cheers0 -
did they give any reason for cancelling ? (rather than just extreme circumstances). It could be that there are major problems with the property that can't be fixed (unlikely though)0

I was in the house on the Wed before I signed up and there was no obvious problem and no builder activity (house was finished).
I have tried to ring them today but I can not get anyone.0 -
Please keep us informed as I would like to know result!0

But they have cancelled the reservation. I can't have the house even though they shouldn't have cancelled, they have !
Reservation is only an expression of intent. As the potential buyer you are no obligation to purchase the property. Likewise the builder too can withdraw from the arrangement. By refunding the deposit paid they've meet the requirements of the code.0 -
if that is the case - the law is very one sided, as if the purchaser was to pull out, they would not receive their deposit back0

I have finally found out what happened after I sent a fairly sharp email to builder, estate agent and the Consumer Code for Homebuilders. A chap from the builder Westbuild rang me very quickly, apologised and explained what happened.
There had been a previous reservation, this reservation was failing but still intact. Whoever was buying their home could not do the deal. Estate agent/builder became/were aware of this. Hence property made available & my offer was accepted. However, sometime during the week the person who originally reserved the house found another buyer. There then seemed to have been a communication issue between the estate agent Davis Tate and Westbuild. I think the other reservation was kinda cancelled but not really. Hence the grey area.
The other original reservation was not officially cancelled hence the builder still went with them. My reservation check will not be cashed.
I still think my new reservation should not have agreed without the old one being formally cancelled. Westbuild and Davis Tate estate agency should have communicated properly. Not sure if builder or estate agent or other buyer to blame.
However, I don't believe there was any deliberate trickery by Westbuild.
At least I know what happened.
