Easyjet booking error, do I have to swallow it?

I booked flights for my father and son , was very careful as am so nervous of making mistakes, the flights were checked and confirmed by myself, my husband and father before confirming.
I sighed a sigh of relief it was all correct. As the flights drew nearer I updated their passport info online and was horrified to spot the return flights were for 28th Apr 2015 instead of 28th Oct. I made the amendments on-line which cost me £220 in total (£35 per flight & fare increase on one flight). When I made the amendments I noticed that the return date kept defaulting back to 28th April.
Easyjet say it's tough as I didn't point out my mistake within 24hrs. Granted we didn't check the email confirmation but we were 100% positive the correct dates were selected. I argued that it wasn't my mistake but a website issue.
Is there any point pursing or do i have to take £220 on the chin for not checking the email? The original flight cost in total was £367 so this significant!
Thanks

Can you get someone to video you making a booking, showing how the website keeps defaulting?
Then raise a formal complaint with Easyjet with this as evidence.0 -
When did you book them and are was the return date supposed to be october 2014 or 2015?
If it was 2015 that might explain why it kept defaulting back to april as scheduled flights are only available 11 months in advance.
Do you have anything showing you originally booked the october date? Screenshot perhaps? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Good idea but I can't really afford to risk making another booking, I've tinkered with flights but can't really tell without booking ! x0 -
Have you tried a different web browser? You'd need to eliminate that it wasn't your computer. What route was it for, and is the return for 2014?0

Based on how the OP is worded, I'd say this is all relating to this month.hairbrain05 wrote: »As the flights drew nearer0
