Possible Parking Charge

Hi,
As I was leaving Washington Services on the A1 yesterday my car broke down. I had to wait 1hr30mins for the AA to attend and a further hour before I could leave. The parking time limit set by CP Parking is two hours and the penalty for over staying is £100. I tried calling the number on the sign at the car park but with it being a Sunday the number was shut off. What should I do if I recieve a penalty notice? I have the AA breakdown report stating the time reported and the time resolved, will this be enough to appeal?
Thanks
Sean

Please read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky which will guide through the initial stages, to get yourself started with this.
You should make no contact with CP Parking until (if) you get a Notice to Keeper (NtK) from them, which should arrive within 14 calendar days of the parking event.
Please do read the sticky, which is designed for anyone setting out on this 'journey' - you will find it near the top of the forum index, one page back from this one.
PS - this is not a 'penalty' notice in the same sense as a road parking penalty, it's purely a speculative invoice from a private organisation. They have no statutory authority. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

It's a glitch at the moment with the MSE system, it is NOT your computer.
Bear with it, I'm sure it will be back to normal before too long. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
